FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jefferies Continues Technology Research Expansion; Benjamin To Cover Semiconductor Consumer and Comm IC Stocks NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 2004--Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE:JEF), today announced the hiring of Adam L. Benjamin as a Senior Vice President and Equity Research Analyst for semiconductor devices. Adam will specifically focus his coverage universe on consumer and comm IC stocks. This follows the addition of Cristina T. Osmena in April of this year to cover the semiconductor capital equipment industry. Year to date, Jefferies and its affiliates have now hired eight senior technology research analysts in the U.S. and Europe as part of the firm's overall focus on the Technology Sector. With the addition of Mr. Benjamin, Jefferies now covers the following technology industries: communications equipment, infrastructure & enterprise application software, Internet & new media, IT services, semiconductor consumer and comm IC, and semiconductor capital equipment. This continued expansion of resources demonstrates Jefferies' overall commitment to this strategic segment of the world economy. Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Benjamin was a Senior Research Associate at SG Cowen Securities, where he focused on the semiconductor space for nearly two years. In addition, he worked in the Technology M&A group at that firm for the preceding three years. Previously, Mr. Benjamin was an Associate in the Corporate Law Department of Sullivan & Worcester. He received a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University. Mr. Benjamin will be based in Jefferies' Boston office and will report to Mr. Black.
