FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jefferies Adds Senior Biotechnology Analyst; Eun Yang Enhances Firm's Coverage of Life Science Companies NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 2005--Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Eun K. Yang, PhD as a Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst covering biotechnology companies. Ms. Yang's experience as both an industry practitioner and an analyst will enable Jefferies to provide a deeper understanding of the biotechnology industry while significantly enhancing the firm's overall focus on healthcare. Ms. Yang will work with Senior Research Analyst Adam A. Walsh, MD to enhance Jefferies' coverage of U.S. biotechnology companies. Her addition enhances the firm's overall focus in life sciences, which also includes coverage of European specialty pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies by Senior Research Analysts Robin Campbell, PhD and Nicholas Turner, PhD. Jefferies' broader coverage of the healthcare sector includes six additional analysts who follow healthcare services, medical devices and diagnostics, pharmaceutical services, and specialty pharmaceutical companies. Ms. Yang has been immersed in the healthcare industry for more than 15 years as both an analyst and a research scientist. Prior to joining Jefferies, she was a senior equity research analyst for Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, where she also covered biotechnology. Ms. Yang held similar positions at Needham & Company, LLC, and Lazard Freres & Company, LLC, and consulted for ImClone Systems. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital through Cornell Medical College, where she was an instructor for the Department of Medicine, and she was an adjunct professor for the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences at City University of New York. Ms. Yang has a PhD in Pathology from Boston University Graduate School and a BS in Biological Sciences from University of Southern California. She is a published author and was a recipient of the Cancer Research Foundation of America Fellowship. Ms. Yang will be based in Jefferies' New York headquarters office.
