JEFFERIES ADDS EXPERIENCED SALES TEAM IN SAN FRANCISCO

Daniel Charney To Head Firm's West Coast Equity Products Effort

NEW YORK, June 12, 2007 -- Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Daniel S. Charney as Managing Director and Regional Sales Manager of the Firm’s San Francisco office and Head of Equity Products on the West Coast. Geoff M. Heyman and Marc A. Intagliata join as Senior Vice Presidents in Sales Trading and Research Sales, respectively. Mr. Charney has sixteen years of experience in equities, having worked with Messrs. Heyman and Intagliata previously at firms including UBS Securities, Schwab Capital Markets, Montgomery Securities and Thomas Weisel.

Mr. Charney will lead the Firm’s San Francisco sales efforts and assist in the expansion of the Firm’s Equity Products, including prime brokerage, electronic trading and derivatives. Messrs. Charney, Heyman and Intagliata join one of the largest institutional sales forces in the industry, with over 180 equity sales professionals on trading desks around the globe including New York, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Zurich and Tokyo. The firm is a leading provider of trade execution and liquidity for small and mid-cap securities. Established in 1992, the Firm’s San Francisco office houses approximately 70 sales and trading, research and investment banking professionals.
