NEW YORK, February 17, 2009 -- The Jefferies investment bank today announced that Richard Burke has joined as a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of the Firm’s Investment Banking Division. Mr. Burke has more than 15 years of industry experience and was most recently a Partner at Tower Three Partners, a Greenwich, CT based private equity firm. Prior to Tower Three, he was a Managing Director in Investment Banking at Gleacher Partners, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Burke will be based in the New York office of Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF).

Prior to Gleacher Partners, Mr. Burke worked as a corporate attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, the New York law firm. Mr. Burke has worked on a variety of mergers and acquisitions and other complex transactions, for clients such as Gold Kist, IMS Health, Insilco Holdings, MacAndrews & Forbes, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation
and Penn Engineering. He received an MBA from Columbia University, a JD from New York University School of Law and an AB in American Studies from Georgetown University.
