JEFFERIES FURTHER ENHANCES EQUITY SALES & TRADING PLATFORM

NEW YORK, April 7, 2010 – Jefferies announced today the continued expansion of the firm's extensive equity sales and trading platform with the hiring of five senior sales professionals. Within Jefferies' Cash Equity Sales and Trading group, Kevin Fisher joins as a Managing Director, Ari Nathan and Thomas Pierini join as Senior Vice Presidents and Josh Horowitz joins as a Vice President, all from Pali Capital. In Equity Derivatives, Russ Marcus joins as a Senior Vice President from Bank Hapoalim.

Jefferies' broader Equities effort, which is focused on the global sales, sales-trading, trading and research of equity securities, consists of more than 650 professionals in the US, Europe and Asia, including 110 outside the US. The firm offers sales and trading services in a full range of equity products, including cash equities, electronic and algorithmic trading services, prime brokerage, securities finance and equity derivatives, including options and ETFs.

Kevin Fisher was Co-Head of US Cash Equities at Pali Capital, where he spent 12 years and previously was at Cantor Fitzgerald.

Ari Nathan was a cash sales trader at Pali Capital, where he spent 11 years and previously was at Cantor Fitzgerald.

Thomas Pierini was a cash sales trader at Pali Capital, where he spent 18 months and was previously at Bear Stearns.

Josh Horowitz was a cash sales trader at Pali Capital, where he spent 6 years.

Russ Marcus was a derivative sales trader at Bank Hapoalim, where he spent nearly a year, and previously was at UBS for five years and Morgan Stanley for six.
