JEFFERIES ADDS TO EMERGING MARKETS FIXED INCOME PLATFORM

LONDON and NEW YORK, 28 April 2010 – Jefferies announced today the appointment of Mark Alan Fox as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Distribution, Europe. The hiring of Mr. Fox is the next step in the firm's ongoing global expansion of its emerging markets business. In February the firm announced the addition of three senior emerging markets professionals in Singapore.

"The creation of this position underscores the global presence of Jefferies' fixed income business today," commented Tim Cronin, Global Head of Fixed Income at Jefferies. "With our significant expansion over the past two years, we now have more than 450 fixed income professionals in the US, Europe and Asia, including more than 35 focused on emerging markets in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia."

In a joint statement, Charles Cortellesi and Erich Bauer-Rowe, Global Co-Heads of the Emerging Markets Group within the Fixed Income Division at Jefferies, added, "Mark brings significant experience and relationships to Jefferies and will immediately add value as we look to continue the growth and momentum of our business."

Mr. Fox has more than 21 years of experience in financial services. Prior to joining Jefferies, he spent eight years at UBS, most recently as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets, Switzerland and UK. Previously, he spent three years at J.P. Morgan and nine at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Fox has also written and lectured on emerging markets extensively, including as Associate Fellow and Examiner for the International Securities Emerging Markets Association.
