JEFFERIES EXPANDS INTERNATIONAL CREDIT TRADING PLATFORM

Samantha Wessels Joins as Senior Credit Analyst

LONDON and NEW YORK, 19 May 2010 – In a further expansion of the firm's Global Credit Sales and Trading Business, Jefferies today announced the appointment of Samantha Wessels as a Managing Director and Senior Credit Analyst. She is based in London and will focus on special situations and distressed credit.

Jefferies' global fixed income group consists of nearly 500 professionals focused on the sales and trading of investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, government and agency securities, repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, municipal bonds, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities and emerging market debt. Recent additions to the London team include Tom Jenkins who joined Jefferies from RBS in March as a Senior Credit Analyst focusing on Financials.

Ms. Wessels has over fourteen years of industry experience, most recently at BlueBay Asset Management, where she was a Credit Analyst for distressed credit. Previously, she was a Senior Vice President at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin in Washington, DC and London, where she spent eleven years. Ms. Wessels received a BS cum laude from Georgetown University.
