JEFFERIES FURTHER EXPANDS EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME GROUP

Marie-Laure Savelli-Timsit and Maxim-Alexandre Simon Join Rates Sales in France

LONDON, PARIS and NEW YORK, 21 June 2010 - Jefferies announced today the hiring of Marie-Laure Savelli-Timsit as a Managing Director and Head of Rates Sales France and Maxim-Alexandre Simon as a Vice President for Rates Sales in a further expansion of the firm's global Fixed Income group. Both join from ING Bank and Ms. Savelli-Timsit will be responsible for establishing and directing Jefferies. French rates business which is based in Paris.

Over the last year, Jefferies has been designated a Primary Dealer in the US, UK, Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands. Most recently, Jefferies was named as a member of the Austrian Federal Financing Agency's Auction Panel, enabling Jefferies to participate in all Austrian Financing Agency offerings.

Marie-Laure Savelli-Timsit joins Jefferies from ING Bank, where she spent nine years and was most recently Deputy Head of the Financial Institution Desk. Previously she spent five years in Fixed Income Sales at BBL France, and held similar Fixed Income roles at IBJ France. She received a DEA in Economics and DESS in European Economy from Université de Paris.

Maxim-Alexandre Simon also joins Jefferies from ING Bank, where he spent two years as a Credit & Rates salesperson. He held similar fixed income roles at JPMorgan. Mr. Simon received a Master's in Management from Toulouse Business School.
