JEFFERIES HIRES MANAGING DIRECTOR IN EUROPE TO EXPAND GLOBAL CONSUMER INVESTMENT BANKING GROUP

LONDON and NEW YORK, 28 June 2010 -- In a further expansion of the firm's Global Consumer Investment Banking Group, Jefferies announced today the addition of Robert Foster as a Managing Director and European Head of Consumer Investment Banking. Mr. Foster will be based in the firm's London office.

Jefferies' Global Consumer Investment Banking Group is comprised of over 25 professionals in the US and Europe. So far in 2010, Jefferies' consumer investment banking team has bookrun or advised on 14 transactions worth $2.5 billion for clients.

Mr. Foster brings to Jefferies over 13 years of European investment banking experience, including nine years at Morgan Stanley where he headed European Retail Sector coverage. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Foster was with UBS for four years in their Mergers and Acquisitions Group in London and New York. He received a Masters degree from Trinity College Dublin and a BA from Queen's University.
