JEFFERIES EXPANDS ITS WEST COAST
TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT BANKING GROUP

NEW YORK, June 30 2010 – As part of an ongoing expansion of the firm's Technology Investment Banking business, Jefferies announced today the addition of Steve Abbott as Managing Director and Co-Head of Semiconductor Investment Banking. Mr. Abbott will be located in the firm's Silicon Valley office and will work in partnership with David Creamer, Managing Director and Co-Head of Semiconductor Investment Banking.

Jefferies' Global Technology Investment Banking Group is comprised of over 50 professionals in the US and Europe. So far in 2010, Jefferies' technology investment banking team has bookrun or advised on more than 25 transactions worth over $4 billion.

Mr. Abbott brings to Jefferies over 15 years of technology investment banking experience. He joins Jefferies from UBS, where he spent four years and was a Managing Director and Global Head of Semiconductor and Electronics Investment Banking. Prior to UBS, Mr. Abbott spent four years at Deutsche Bank, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Semiconductor Investment Banking. He received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a J.D. from Stanford Law School and an AB in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
