Jefferies received two equity research analyst awards in The Wall Street Journal "Best on the Street" 2010 Analyst Survey. These rankings were calculated based on estimated total return, including price changes and dividends, of each eligible stock an analyst covered in an industry, as well as the number of stocks the analyst covered within that industry.
Jefferies also received a total of eight equity research analyst awards in The Financial Times / StarMine annual analyst awards survey for the United States and Europe. The awards recognized the top ten stock pickers and earnings estimators based on the returns of their buy/sell recommendations and the accuracy of their earnings estimates for more than 60 industries during calendar year 2009.
Additionally, Jefferies received a total of ten equity research awards in the Forbes / Zacks Investment Research Best Brokerage Analyst survey. The survey ranks security analysts on their stock-picking skills over the three calendar years ended March 31, 2010, and separately ranks the same analysts on their earnings-per-share forecasting accuracy, by company, for the three most recent fiscal years available prior to publication of these analyst rankings. For each analyst, the survey calculates a composite rank based on the rank for recommending stocks and the rank for predicting earnings.
"We are very pleased that Jefferies' leading equity research coverage continues to gain recognition," commented Steven R. Black, Global Head of Equity Research at Jefferies. "Our firm remains committed to offering objective investment ideas and independent insight. We congratulate our entire research team for excellence in their areas of coverage."
