Jefferies Clean Technology and Industrial Biotechnology Indices

The Jefferies Clean Technology Indices are intended to reflect the stock performance of companies that generate more than 50% of sales from clean technologies. Companies included in these indices are publicly listed in the U.S., Europe, Latin America or Asia. The eligible constituents are selected in consultation with Jefferies equity research analysts (subject to market capitalization, liquidity, and other requirements) to provide appropriate representation of a range of clean technology industries.

Jefferies Global Clean Technology Composite Index^SM – Includes companies providing products and services related to solar, wind, fuel cells, microturbines, battery technology, biofuels and other alternative solutions.
Jefferies Global Clean Technology Energy Generation Index^SM – A sub-index of the Global Clean Technology Index; includes companies providing products and services related to solar and wind.
Jefferies Global Clean Technology Energy Storage Index^SM – A sub-index of the Global Clean Technology Index; includes companies providing products and services related to fuel cells, battery technology, and microturbines.

Jefferies also offers an overlapping Industrial Biotechnology Index which encompasses biofuels but also includes other industrial biotechnology companies.

Jefferies Global Industrial Biotechnology Index^SM – Eligible universe of constituents overlaps that of the Global Clean Technology Index; includes companies providing products and services related to biofuels, bio-based materials, catalysts and enzymes, crops, seeds and genetically modified feedstocks.

Together, the Clean Technology and Industrial Biotechnology Indices provide benchmarks for the investment community to track the market performance of these sectors. The methodologies for index construction and the universe of eligible constituents are defined by Jefferies in consultation with Standard & Poor's, while the calculation and maintenance of the indices are completed by Standard & Poor's.
